This series begins with one of the most overlooked, yet omnipresent elements of urban life in Taiwan—potted plants. They appear beneath arcades, in alleyway corners, in front of tin-roof houses, storefronts, and next to utility boxes... They don’t belong to formal gardening, nor do they qualify as landscape design. Instead, they represent a kind of everyday “spatial adjustment”—intimate and improvised.

I transform these familiar urban plants and containers into soft sculptural objects. The series does not focus on the plants themselves, but rather on how people use plants to shape and negotiate space.

These potted forms cannot be watered, and they will not grow.Yet within their soft, quiet presence remains a persistent desire—to leave behind a trace of green in the city, and a small, human warmth in an otherwise hard-edged environment.

Flovver
This series centers around the theme of “flowers in a vase,” continuing my exploration and reinterpretation of everyday objects.

As decorative symbols, flowers often carry a complex emotional language—blessings, remembrance, romance, consolation. I translate these familiar floral shapes and vase-like postures into soft, inanimate sculptures that nonetheless exude sensitivity and emotional resonance.

What this series contemplates is not merely the form of the flower, but its cultural role as an emotional object.

Through these soft, unwilting “flowers,” I invite viewers to reconsider the symbolic weight and emotional depth behind this seemingly mundane gesture—placing flowers in a vase.
